I bought two copies of this book (By accident, maybe, two arrive after I thought I'd ordered one) This made for good guided reading sessions.
Brace for questions. This book will trigger so many questions. I'd also recommend buying the other books in the series. It's great for girls to have access to these books so they can have a read of all the different sections when they want some guidance but might not want to talk to someone too.
The books have a lot of content I may not have thought to even address like her rights as a young person and atypical situations.
My 11 yo daughters were initially suspicious of the book, thinking it would be boring, but the humour, cartoons and relevant content (eg 'Challenges - what happens if you're at the swimming pool/you live with your dad/ at a sleepover when you get your period?") won them over. Super useful and engaging.
I purchased this for my pre-teen. She hasn't put the book down!
Even better, it has initiated a tonne of questions which has been a great conversation starter.
