Free blow-drys, free tampons and a ton of $ raised for period poverty.

March 13, 2019

On Friday 8th March 2019, the women of Melbourne banded together and collectively raised a whopping $5,821 for Share the Dignity - whilst treating themselves to a li’l (well-deserved) self-care.

We were super proud to support the team at The Blow Australia on their incredible International Women’s Day initiative, where they served up free blow-drys in their Melbourne salon for the day, in exchange for a donation of choice to Share the Dignity.

If you haven’t heard (but seriously if not, where have you been), Share the Dignity work tirelessly to help ensure the safety and support of domestic violence victims and homeless women around Australia. They rely on the community to help them fund their programs and donate menstrual products so that they can pass them onto those who need them most. So to all those Moxettes who came along and so generously donated, a whopping THANK YOU to you!

For everyone who booked a blow-dry on the day, we promised to donate a pack of Moxie to a woman in need via Share the Dignity on your behalf. We’re going to round it up to 100 and then DOUBLE IT – so that’s 200 packs of Moxie headed straight for our fellow period pals in need.

We couldn’t have done it alone, Moxettes. This day proved that collectively, collaboratively, we can drive change; your donations and attendance will help fund and provide sanitary items to help homeless women and help Share the Dignity in their fight for better safety and support for victims of domestic violence. Hope to see you again next year.
