Moxie tin upcycle hack: DIY deodorant.

August 08, 2018

A super simple and sustainable DIY inspired by a marvellous Moxette!

It's no secret we're looking for fresh ways to go natural and chemical-free 2018 - which is why we love hearing from super Moxette (and nutritionist) Michelle, who told us she uses her spare Moxie tins to store homemade deodrant. We just had to give it a go and, thanks to this recipe from Goodness Gracious Health, we discovered it's not only super easy, but uses ingredients we already had around the house! Consider us converted.

Here's how you can make enough DIY Deodrant to fill one Moxie Super tin.

You'll need some baking soda, coconut oil, cornflour and an essential oil.

Mix together equal amounts of baking soda, coconut oil and cornflour. We did this by hand super easily, but you can use a blender if you've got one handy.

Once it's combined into a paste, add a few drops of your essential oil - we used a lavender scent.

Would you believe us if we said that's it? So simple! Stored in a Moxie tin, it's protected from the elements and safe to use for a few weeks. Just gently dab a small amount in the morning and you're set in even the worst summer heatwave.

Please remember to recycle your Moxie tins once you're done with them. Simply put them out with your weekly collectables.

Not ready to part with yours yet? Why not refill them, instead?! Shop our Moxie tampons refill packs and top up your tins. Available in Regular and Super variants.
